Zagreb is getting a new open-air destination for food lovers. On Friday, September 25, Kennedy Square will become a culinary stage for Pašta & Mašta, a special after-work gathering bringing together chefs Tom Gretić, Gregorio Mannucci and host chef Adrijan Mamlić. Together, they have created six original pasta dishes that will be available exclusively for one evening.
If you love fresh pasta, creative gastronomy and relaxed urban food events, make your way to Kennedy Square in Zagreb on September 25 from 5 pm to 10 pm.
In front of Pašta Eat & Shop, Pašta & Mašta will bring together three chefs with different culinary backgrounds but a shared passion for exceptional pasta and inventive flavours.
For this one-night event, Tom Gretić, Gregorio Mannucci and Adrijan Mamlić have created six completely original pasta dishes.
What makes Pašta & Mašta particularly special is that every pasta has been hand-shaped and produced according to a custom recipe, designed specifically to complement each chef’s vision.
These are not dishes from a regular restaurant menu. Every creation has been developed exclusively for the event and will not be available elsewhere or added to the regular menu afterwards.
The chefs are keeping the names and final presentation of the dishes as a surprise for the evening, but they have revealed some of the key ingredients that will define the menu.
The tasting begins with an unexpected combination of crispy pasta and rich, creamy chicken liver, setting the tone for an evening built around contrasting textures and bold flavours.
Next comes handmade pasta paired with tender rabbit meat, while seafood lovers will be treated to a dish dedicated to prawns presented in two completely different textures.
A strong Italian influence can be found in a combination of homemade green pasta, aromatic herbs, porcini mushrooms and intense sheep’s cheese.
The menu also features a modern interpretation of one of Italy’s simplest and most iconic pasta dishes – Aglio e Olio. Here, black pasta is paired with the complex flavours of fermented black garlic, creating a more contemporary take on the classic.
Meat lovers will also have something to look forward to. Canneloni will feature an unconventional interpretation of Genovese Napoletano ragù with wild boar, giving the traditional Italian preparation a distinctly different character.
And then comes dessert – an intriguing creation designed to challenge the traditional idea of what a dessert can be.
The organisers are keeping the final details under wraps, making the last course one of the evening’s culinary surprises.
One of the most appealing aspects of the event is its accessible pricing.
The exclusive pasta dishes will cost between €6 and €8 per plate, allowing guests to create their own tasting experience and sample several different creations throughout the evening.
Rather than a traditional set dinner, Pašta & Mašta is designed as a relaxed food gathering where visitors can choose what they want to try and build their own evening around the dishes that catch their attention.
Great pasta deserves great drinks, so the event will also feature a carefully selected drinks offering.
Guests can enjoy the ever-popular Aperol Spritz, while fans of classic cocktails can opt for the iconic Americano.
A selection of red and white wines will also be available, offering natural pairings for the different flavours and styles of pasta.
