Night of Museums 2026 in Split and Salona – Free Admission and Free Transport

Night of Museums 2026 in Dalmatia brings a special cultural experience on Friday, January 30, 2026, when the Archaeological Museum in Split and the archaeological site of Salona jointly take part in this national event with a rich and diverse evening program.

A special highlight of this year’s Night of Museums is the free shuttle bus service connecting Split and Salona, allowing visitors to experience two completely different, yet equally impressive museum settings in one evening.

Night of Museums at the Archaeological Museum in Split from 6:00 PM – 1:00 AM

The oldest museum in Croatia once again presents a strong and diverse program featuring current exhibitions, themed expert-guided tours, family activities, film screenings, and contemporary interpretations of cultural heritage.

The program is based on the exhibitions Ecclesia et Regnum – The Split Church Councils of 925 and 928 and The Gaze of Medusa, and visitors can enjoy:

• a film night with marathon screenings of the series Croatian Kings

• themed guided tours through exhibitions and rare museum collections

• a family program “Sherlock in the Museum: The Royal Case!”

• an open studio in the lapidarium with live design work inspired by heritage

• a late-evening guided tour focused on myths and deities of the ancient world

• warm beverages available during the evening

The museum’s nighttime atmosphere offers a truly unique and memorable experience.

Night of Museums in Salona (Solin)

 START: 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM at  Archaeological site of Salona

During the Night of Museums, the ancient city of Salona becomes a space for movement, play, and exploration, with a program designed for all generations:

• the Night Run in Salona

• the family program “THE DIE IS CAST! – ROMAN CHALLENGE”

• a themed night tour “A Night in the Ancient City”

The authentic atmosphere of the ancient city under the stars offers a powerful and immersive historical experience.

 Free Shuttle Bus: Split – Salona

To enable visitors to experience both locations in one evening, a free shuttle bus service has been organized.

Departures from Split (in front of the Archaeological Museum):

• 5:00 PM

• 7:00 PM

• 8:30 PM

Departures from Salona (Starine bus stop):

• 6:30 PM

• 8:00 PM

• 10:00 PM

• 11:00 PM
